Romelu Lukaku has reportedly been on Antonio Conte’s summer transfer wishlist and a move to Tottenham Hotspur is on the cards. Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus are among the clubs interested in the Belgium international. Arturo Vidal has also been linked with the Premier League side. Meanwhile, Inter Milan are keen on completing a deal for Tottenham Hotspur striker Marcelo Brozovic.
Nicolo Barella could join Chelsea
Nicolo Barella has been linked with a move to Chelsea in recent weeks. Despite the high value of the midfielder, Chelsea have so far failed to replace Cesc Fabregas. The Blues have already signed Christian Pulisic and Gonzalo Higuain. However, Barella is unsure of his future and his transfer to the Premier League could be halted if his appeal against a transfer ban is successful.
The Argentine midfielder has been linked with a move to Chelsea for some time now, and has been a target of many Italian clubs. Last January, Chelsea held concrete talks with Nicolo Barella. The Argentine spent the previous season at Cagliari, and the Italian club were keen to sign him. After making 80 appearances for Cagliari, he went on to join Inter Milan on a loan deal with an option to buy. After signing a contract with Inter, the club are expected to offer the midfielder a new deal with a substantial pay rise.
Barella’s performance at Inter Milan has also been impressive. He has scored three goals and provided two assists in thirteen appearances. Barella has spoken highly of former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte, saying that he would “die” for the manager. Whether Barella joins Chelsea remains to be seen, but his transfer is one of the most intriguing options for the Blues. This summer, Chelsea are back in action in the Premier League and Barella’s move could be the perfect opportunity for him to make his mark at Stamford Bridge.
Arturo Vidal is a target for Tottenham Hotspur
Spurs are reportedly pursuing the signing of Inter Milan midfielder Arturo Vidal, with the Spaniard set to leave the club on a free transfer. Spurs have been linked with Vidal since the summer and the midfielder is known to manager Antonio Conte. Conte has previously acquired Vidal, who was at Juventus and Inter when he was manager of both clubs.
Xavi is reportedly looking for a cheap defensive midfielder. Similarly, Antonio Conte is seeking a defensive midfielder to replace Xavi. While Rodrigo Bentancur arrived from Juventus on transfer deadline day, the manager is keen on acquiring another midfielder. Conte is a big fan of Vidal, a former Inter Milan player who is out of contract this summer.
Manchester United and Leicester City are both in transition after the season, while Arsenal have been solid in recent years. But Tottenham have improved over the course of the year. Meanwhile, Liverpool have undergone a transition period and are facing a battle for the Premier League title. If Tottenham do manage to sign Vidal, he should be part of the squad. It’s hard to imagine the next manager of either club deciding to spend money on a player who’s so vital to the team’s success.
Romelu Lukaku is on Antonio Conte’s summer wishlist
It seems like a logical move for Inter Milan to make this summer. The Italian giants are keeping tabs on Manchester United’s Romelu Lukaku and Chelsea’s Victor Moses. Conte previously tried to sign Lukaku while at Chelsea, but failed to sign him after only one season. If he does sign Lukaku, it would mark a bold statement by the Italian side.
Tottenham are reportedly in the market for a striker, but Lukaku is a better fit for the Premier League. The Belgian has been linked with a move to Chelsea despite his desire to join Barcelona. Tottenham have also been linked with Lukaku, but Conte is more interested in the latter’s ability to play in English. The two have a good relationship.
Chelsea are interested in signing two defenders to help them replace Hazard and Costa. It is also worth noting that Roma and Inter are tracking Everton’s Alexander Isak. While this deal was scuttled after Lukaku’s arrival, the latter’s situation will also change over the summer. Nicolo Zaniolo is another player who is said to be on Antonio Conte’s summer wishlist.
Chelsea are also interested in a transfer for Inter Milan’s winger, but Inter have set a price of PS70m for the player. Chelsea cannot risk losing out on a player like Lukaku, and they could become the front runners. Antonio Conte has also reportedly asked Inter Milan for the player but the two sides have been far apart on valuation. Therefore, both parties could negotiate over the price.
Ivan Perisic is a target for Tottenham Hotspur
Spurs have reportedly made an offer to Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic, who is due to finish his contract with Inter this month. Perisic has been linked with a move to Chelsea, but has refused to commit to the Blues. Tottenham are reportedly keen to sign the Croatian, and Antonio Conte has already spoken with the player to discuss the possibility of a reunion. Spurs have been looking for a striker for some time, and have been able to get it, but Perisic has decided to join Tottenham as his current contract with Inter Milan is up in July.
Perisic has been impressive at Inter, winning league titles in three countries, scoring in the World Cup final, and has no sign of slowing down. And at 33, he has only gotten better. Those are the kinds of things Tottenham were looking for in the January transfer window, and Perisic is the type of player Conte will like. And he would help spurs’ trophy ambitions.
Perisic’s upcoming arrival will be a major change to Tottenham’s usual transfer policy. The club has previously signed young players with little or no experience but have recently spoken about needing more experience. Tottenham will be looking to bolster its defense and attack, and a player of Perisic’s quality and experience will help them get there. Tottenham have also been linked with Chelsea, but the Italians were interested in signing Perisic as well.
Dusan Vlahovic is a target for Tottenham Hotspur
Spurs have been linked with Dusan Vlahovic in the past. However, he has recently rejected several offers from Premier League clubs. It is believed that Tottenham have met with Fiorentina’s hierarchy in London to discuss a possible deal. The director of football at Spurs has previously worked with Vlahovic’s agent, so he has an understanding of the player’s needs.
Although Tottenham are looking at Dane Scarlett as a long-term solution to the goalscoring crisis at White Hart Lane, they are desperate to add a second striker to the team. The striker is only 21 years old, but he could be the perfect partner for Harry Kane. According to Transfermarkt, Tottenham are reportedly interested in signing the Serbian international. However, Fiorentina have made it clear that the player cannot leave in January.
Tottenham are also interested in signing the Spain international. He was also a target during the summer. Antonio Conte wants reinforcements across the pitch, including at the back. The 24-year-old can play as a winger, a wing back or a forward, so he has versatility that other players can’t match. It is unclear whether Tottenham will be able to sign Vlahovic in the summer.
Spurs could make an offer for the Serbian striker, but they may need to wait until the end of the season to decide. However, Arsenal have also been excluded from the race for Vlahovic and are demanding PS68million to sell him. In any case, Tottenham are unlikely to get Vlahovic, but they should fight for the Serbian despite his lack of experience.
Alvaro Morata is set to join AC Milan
Chelsea have reportedly reached an agreement to swap Alvaro Morata for Gonzalo Higuain and Juventus are yet to approve the deal. The Spaniard will join west London on a six-month loan that can become permanent in the summer. Alvaro Morata has scored seven goals so far this season but has missed a number of opportunities. Chelsea boss Gianfranco Zola is reportedly convinced that Morata lacks confidence.
Despite his prolific scoring record, Alvaro Morata failed to settle into life in London last season, scoring just 11 goals in 31 Premier League matches. His lacklustre performance in England has not made him reconsider his desire to leave the Blues, and rumours have suggested he is considering a return to Juventus. However, despite the transfer rumours, Morata’s camp has agreed to pay a PS60 million fee for the striker.
The Spanish international is now a target of Chelsea, Manchester United, and AC Milan. The latter two sides have shown interest in Morata, but have yet to make an offer. Morata, who is 25 years old, is the youngest player among the Milan target list. Morata’s agent Alfredo Pedulla has also claimed that Morata is ‘Milan’s number one target’.
