Benfica are keen to sign Darwin Nunez, but Manchester United are unwilling to pay PS100m for him. The Portuguese side should not be ruled out, however, as Scamacca, a 6ft 5in striker from Valencia, could be a suitable and shrewd alternative. He would cost around PS34m and is a fully international.
Benfica want PS100m for Darwin Nunez
Liverpool and Benfica have confirmed a deal for the Uruguayan international. The 24-year-old scored 34 goals and provided four assists last season. This season, he has a total of six goals in 10 Champions League games, which works out to around one goal every 74 minutes. However, the deal isn’t done yet. It could still fall through, so the deal isn’t done yet.
Liverpool and Benfica have reached an agreement to sell the rights of Darwin Nunez to the former for EUR75m, or a figure yet to be confirmed. The deal will allow Benfica to get the services of the former Almeria forward for a profit. The Portuguese champions will also receive a share of any profit made from the transfer. But if the deal goes through, the player is expected to leave this summer.
Mane has attracted interest from Bayern Munich and Juventus, and Liverpool rejected two bids from both. But Nunez’s arrival will clear the way for Mane to join Bayern Munich. The Reds are close to a deal on personal terms, but the fee structure is the main detail in the deal. Nunez scored 34 goals in 41 games for Benfica last season, and is considered a good replacement for Sadio Mane, who was recently rejected by the Reds.
The price of Darwin Nunez has been linked with Liverpool and Manchester United this summer. Nevertheless, there’s a lot of work to be done before it can be finalised. However, if the move does go through, Benfica will be able to get the striker for PS100m, plus a bonus. And it will be worthwhile to wait for a deal to happen.
Scamacca is a suitable and shrewd alternative to Erik ten Hag
The Spaniard has a huge amount of potential, and he has already scored 16 goals in Serie A for Sassuolo. Scamacca can shoot from distance and makes tap-ins count. His aerial ability could make him an ideal replacement for Ronaldo, who is no longer available. He could also work well alongside Rashford, Martial, and Sancho.
Scamacca comes with a wealth of managerial experience. He has played under Ralf Rangnick in the Eredivisie and is the perfect candidate to continue his development at the club. However, there is a huge cultural and language barrier that Ten Hag will need to deal with. He needs to be able to tune out the noise outside the club.
Another potential candidate is Sebastien Haller. He is a former Utrecht teammate of Erik ten Hag. At Ajax, he has worked under the Norwegian in the past and has been a key part of their recent success. He has scored 46 goals in the Champions League and has been a key part of the team’s recent success.
The Dutch side reached the final of the Europa League the previous season, where they were beaten by Man Utd. Ten Hag had to deal with an emotional cloud after the collapse of star midfielder Abdelhak Nouri. Abdelhak Nouri had suffered from cardiac arrhythmia and severe brain damage and was left without a future in football. As a result, Ten Hag was brought into the Ajax job from Utrecht, where he had twice led Utrecht to European football. The step up was enormous, but he had a good team, despite his lack of experience.
Frenkie de Jong doesn’t want to move to Manchester United
While Manchester United and Barcelona are battling it out to sign the Netherlands international, it appears that a deal is unlikely to go through. While the club’s CEO and director of football recently met with Frenkie de Jong, his agent has rejected the offer. While he isn’t completely against leaving Barcelona this summer, he is adamant that he will not join Manchester United.
Manchester United are still chasing Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong despite a reported PS56million transfer fee. While Manchester United are willing to accept the fee, the Dutchman has made it clear that he doesn’t want to leave Barcelona. While United have said they will try to convince him to move to England, Barcelona have been sending conflicting messages in the past.
The Netherlands midfielder has admitted to his dissatisfaction with the club’s management. He has said that the club is run ‘erratically’ and cannot offer him Champions League football next season. He has been playing Europa League football for his whole career, and he has expressed reservations over being pushed out of Barcelona. He has also said he would rather play in England with Chelsea.
It’s not the only reason for his disinterest in the move. De Jong has a house in Pedralbes, a good area of Barcelona. This is likely because he intends to stay in Catalonia for a number of years. There’s nothing wrong with that, but it is certainly a reason for Manchester United to be interested in bringing in a new signing.
Tielemans is a striker
Manchester United are reportedly readying an approach for Youri Tielemans. With 12 months left on his contract at Leicester, the Dutchman could be available for just PS25m. While he is not as athletic as De Jong, he has the qualities to excel in midfield. If he has the right partner, he could transform a drab midfield into a high-quality unit.
Despite the lack of a long-term striker solution at Old Trafford, Tielemans and Darwin Nunez are two options. Firstly, Liverpool are prepared to pay Benfica’s PS85m asking price for the striker. Secondly, Manchester United are prepared to sign Scammaca for PS45m, a striker who could fill a similar role as a winger in a midfield.
Manchester United’s biggest threat to Arsenal’s summer transfer plans is Manchester United, who have interest in many of the players on Arsenal’s wishlist. Alternatively, the Gunners can sign Tielemans and Phillips, who are both defensive-midfielders. But what about the Spanish international Darwin Nunez? Ten Hag is well aware of his potential as a striker and has scouted him extensively in the Eredivisie. Besides, he helped PSV beat Ajax in the KNVB Cup final in April.
Leicester are yet to make any major signings this summer. However, it is very unlikely that the Reds will spend more than PS45m on Seri, as he is a striker. However, Liverpool have already made a record transfer in the summer with the signing of Darwin Nunez from Benfica. This deal could help them catch up with the rest of the top six.
Torres is a midfielder
United are reportedly interested in signing Pau Torres from Villarreal this summer. Torres has been a target for United for some time, but the club will need to move mountains to keep him. Last summer, Torres rejected a move to the Premier League to play Champions League football with Villarreal. Torres’ agent is reportedly in Manchester, looking to finalise a deal for Torres. United are willing to pay up to 45 million pounds for the Spaniard.
Torres is a left-footed defender with a good reputation in Europe. He has spent time with the best teams in La Liga and the Europa League. He’s a good option to play in central defence. But he does carry a EUR65 million release clause. In a world of high-priced players, Torres may not be the best fit for United.
Torres’ value has been lowered, though. While he is valued at around PS45m, Torres has contributed greatly to Real Madrid’s success. His statistics include 1.9 aerial duels won, 3.1 clearances made, and 0.6 blocks made, all of which are better than his teammates’. Torres’ potential is so great that Manchester United are interested in bringing him to Old Trafford.
In the summer, Villarreal may be forced to sell Pau Torres for less than his PS55m release clause. The Spanish club is in desperate need of funds this summer, but Torres’ price is likely to be too high. Torres’ value has been linked with Manchester United in recent months. If United buy Torres, they’ll be able to complete a deal quickly.
